There are many good web sites available that have detailed information regarding cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment.  Among the very best of these are the authoritative, freely available ones put out by ASTRO (the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and  Oncology), the NCI (National Cancer Institute) and NCCN (National Comprehensive Cancer Network).

These sites have up-to-date details regarding standards of care for surgical, radiation, and chemotherapy treatments.  These are the sites that physicians consult when they have questions regarding cancer care.  The ASTRO site has detailed information about what patients may expect when they undergo radiation treatments, and includes brochures you may download and print.
